Commercial Accounts:
Monthly Meter Readings
A Commercial account is a property with 5 or more units, or having a business on the premises. Commercial accounts must provide their own scavenger service.
Residential Accounts:
Quarterly (every 3 months) Meter Readings
A residential account is a property with 1 to 4 residential units only.
Garbage, Sewage, and Water usage are computed on one bill.
Customers are responsible for all water passing through their water meter. Failure to receive your bill does not exempt you from penalties.
Sale of All Properties: Final readings must be requested at least 3 working days prior to closing. Final bills must be paid by cash, certified check, or an Illinois licensed attorney. A completed certificate of compliance must be filed in the Water Department before approval of the issuance of Real Estate transfer stamps.
WATER BILLS AND GARBAGE COLLECTIONS
Residents and Businesses can pay their water and garbage bills at City Hall, 6700 West 26th Street. Questions regarding water and garbage collection can also be answered.
