Message From The Office Of The Mayor
With summer fast approaching, our children will be out of school and enjoying numerous outdoor activities. The City of Berwyn, with the intention of promoting child safety, is partnering with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in hosting its 2nd annual Take 25 “Bee Safe” open house.
Take 25 is a nationwide grassroots effort designed to heighten awareness of the issues surrounding missing and exploited children. The Take 25 campaign encourages law enforcement, parents and educators to take 25 minutes to talk to children about ways to be safer, and encourage an ongoing dialogue with children about personal safety. The event will have tips on internet safety for both children and adults, child ID kits with picture and fingerprints, short safety movies for toddlers thru preschool age, tips for parents on what to look for when your child is on the internet, along with other fun safety activities.
The Take 25 “Bee Safe” awareness campaign will be held on Friday May 17, 2013 at the Berwyn Police Department 6401 W. 31st St between 5 pm and 9 pm.
Please join us and encourage any neighbors with children to attend. There is nothing more important than working together to keep our children safe!
Respectfully,
Mayor Robert J. Lovero
