HELP SUPPORT BERWYN DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS The Berwyn Dollars for Scholars is a Non-for-Profit Organization that operates in conjunction with and is sanctioned by National Dollars for Scholars, Scholarship America, Illinois Dollars for Scholars Programs and the City of Berwyn. It was established in 2002 with a start up grant from Nicor Gas, with additional funding from the Berwyn Township, Comcast, Berwyn Jaycees, Berwyn Kiwanis Club and through the gracious cooperation of the BDC (Berwyn Development Corp.) Depot District Special Events Committee. It has awarded $45,500 in college scholarships to Berwyn students over the past seven years! Its primary goal is to promote interest in higher education through financial assistance for Berwyn residents. The program is run with the help of Board Members, Tom Pavlik (City Clerk,) Joe Kroc (City Treasurer,) James Swicionis (School District 100 Board,) Anthony Laureto (Dist. 98 Board President) and Ricky Sanchez (former Dist. 98 Board Member) Mario Lavorato (Mark On-Line News) and Jeff Janda (Berwyn Park District) who volunteer their time. 100% of the monies raised will go directly for college scholarships for BERWYN students. If you or someone you know would like to help support, be a corporate or business sponsor, set up an endowment fund for the Berwyn Dollars For Scholars Scholarship Fund or would like more information about the program, please call Tom Pavlik, City Clerk (708) 788-2670.
