EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM BOARD

There is hereby established an Emergency Telephone System Board of and for the City. The Emergency Telephone System Board shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by the Mayor, by and with the consent of the City Council. The Mayor may appoint a public member who is a resident of the local exchange service territory included in the 9-1-1 coverage area. At least three members of the Emergency Telephone System Board shall be representative of the 9-1-1 public safety agencies, including, but not limited to, the Police Department, the Fire Department, emergency medical service providers, and emergency services and disaster agencies. All appointments shall be made on the basis of ability or experience. Elected officials are also eligible to serve on the Board. Members of the Board shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for their actual and necessary expenses.
