SENIOR ADVOCATE





The Senior Advocate is the supervisor of the Senior Services Division.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Senior Advocate:

- Conducts surveys for the city to determine the need for new senior services and goals
- Designs new service programs
- Develops the department’s on-going infrastructure to execute services and programs
- Priories tasks, services and deadlines for the department’s goals
- Staffs, manages and mentors the department
- Administers the budget
- Implements the new service policies, programs and procedures
- Ensures compliance with city and governmental regulations
- Hires the senior service staff and cost effective subcontractors
- Lobbies federal and state officials for financial aid for grant money for senior services
- Conducts extensive on-going communication with the elderly and the disabled
- Represents senior issues to various local community service organizations
- Makes public and private presentations to groups and the general public on senior issues
- Research grant opportunities for senior service programs
