Mayor Robert J. Lovero, in collaboration with AgeOptions and the PAV YMCA, invites you to the Caring Together, Living Better Caregiver Resource Fair.

This special community event welcomes the Berwyn Silver Community — residents age 55 and older — as well as anyone who provides care for a family member, friend, or neighbor. Whether you are supporting an aging parent, a spouse, or even a grandparent raising grandchildren, the fair offers a welcoming space where caregivers can find support, information, and recognition for the important role they play.

FREE - No Pre Registration Required. 

AgeOptions is the agency designated by the Illinois Department on Aging to plan, coordinate, advocate, and fund services for people aged 60 and over in suburban Cook County. Partnering with the PAV YMCA and the City of Berwyn, this resource fair brings trusted information and services together in one place, making it easier for caregivers to access the tools and guidance they need.

This Time, the Focus Is You:

• You are welcome to stop by at any time; the fair is free to attend, and no preregistration is required.

• Support services will be available to help ease the responsibilities that come with being a caregiver.

• Legal and financial planning resources will be on hand to guide you through benefits, advance planning, and other important matters.

• Healthcare and community resource providers will share information and connect you with local programs.

• Caregiver toolkits will be introduced, offering practical ways to prepare for challenges and build confidence in your role.

• Resources for grandparents and multigenerational caregivers will be highlighted, recognizing the vital role they play in family life.

• Light refreshments and community tables will provide space to take a break, meet others, and enjoy supportive conversation.

This fair is designed to honor the work of caregivers, offering them a day where their needs come first. We encourage the Berwyn Silver Community and all caregivers — whether for parents, spouses, neighbors, or grandchildren — to join us for this opportunity to connect with resources and one another.

Este evento especial está dirigido a la Comunidad Plateada de Berwyn —residentes de 55 años o más— así como a cualquier persona que cuide de un familiar, amigo o vecino. Ya sea que apoye a un padre o madre de edad avanzada, a su cónyuge o incluso que como abuelo o abuela esté criando a sus nietos, esta feria le ofrece un espacio acogedor donde podrá encontrar apoyo, información y reconocimiento por la importante labor que realiza.

En alianza con el PAV YMCA y la Ciudad de Berwyn, esta feria reúne en un solo lugar información confiable y servicios que facilitan a las personas cuidadoras el acceso a recursos y orientación práctica.

Esta vez, el enfoque es en usted:

• Puede llegar en cualquier momento; la feria es gratuita y no se requiere inscripción previa.

• Habrá servicios de apoyo disponibles para aliviar algunas de las responsabilidades que conlleva ser cuidador o cuidadora.

• Tendrá acceso a orientación legal y financiera, incluyendo información sobre beneficios, planificación anticipada y otros temas importantes.

• Proveedores de salud y recursos comunitarios compartirán información y lo conectarán con programas locales.

• Se presentarán “cajas de herramientas” para cuidadores con formas prácticas de prepararse para retos y fortalecer su papel.

• Habrá recursos especialmente pensados para abuelos y cuidadores multigeneracionales, reconociendo el papel vital que desempeñan en la vida familiar.

• Se ofrecerán refrigerios ligeros y mesas comunitarias para descansar, conversar y compartir experiencias con otros cuidadores.

Esta feria está diseñada para honrar el trabajo de quienes cuidan de los demás, ofreciéndoles un día en el que sus propias necesidades son la prioridad.
